Neighbourbood Helper Campaign

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has launched a new initiative called “Neighbourhood Helper” to help Canadians who need assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and the social distancing and lockdowns, there were a lot of members of our society, in particular the seniors, who were house-bound and had no way of getting some of the basic necessities such as groceries and medication. Therefore, AMYA initiated a Neighborhood Helper Campaign by which they opened a telephone line for all those who needed assistance with getting basic necessities to their doors. The helpline is available 24hrs and the calls were linked to nine members’ cell phones. These members pick up the calls and then relay the request to the local volunteers all across the country.

Through this campaign, 3126 requests were fulfilled. Through this campaign, AMYA contacted all Shelter homes, Senior homes and Food Banks and offered them assistance with anything they need at any time. Numerous accounts of excellent reviews and responses were received from all those who were assisted all across Canada.
